November Event

Saturday the 19th, 1-4 pm

Sip Soup, Nibble Cornbread and Learn about

Bridge House

Momentum is donating 100% of the proceeds from the sale of Women's Bean Project products to this local non-profit.

The Bridge House (formerly the Carriage House Community Table) provides a safe supportive community for Boulder's homeless and working poor. This local non-profit is not only committed to addressing their clients immediate survival needs but also offers services that lead to healing, employment and housing. Clients receive free meals, medical and mental health services and assistance from a case manager. The demand for the Bridge House's services has increased from 1,900 individuals in 2006 to 3,600 in 2010.

Director of the Bridge House, Joy Eckstine, and volunteers will be at Momentum serving soup and cornbread and answering questions about Bridge House services and Boulder’s homeless population.

Heart for the Homeless Collection

Momentum is collecting old socks, underwear and toiletries

November 1st - 30th

In addition to donating all the proceeds from the sale of Women’s Bean Project Products on November 19th, Momentum is collecting toiletries, underwear and old socks for the Bridge House for the entire month of November. That’s right, the old socks and underwear you have been meaning to toss and those hotel toiletries that have been accumulating are exactly what the Bridge House needs to help keep Boulder’s homeless population warm, dry and clean.

Ted Turner Visits Momentum!

The Boulder-based Prairie Dog Coalition recognized philanthropist and businessman Ted Turner as "Prairie Dog Protector of the Year". Ted was recognized for his work to bring back native wildlife populations at the seventh annual “Living on Burrowed Time” gala, held at the St Julien Hotel on October 28th.

Momentum's co-founders, Kevin & Jenny Natapow, who sit on the board of the Prairie Dog Coalition, welcomed Ted for a brief visit to Momentum. Ted stopped by after meeting with local officials and Prairie advocates at his restaurant, Ted's Montana Grill, just down the street.

Turner, who founded CNN in 1980 and chairs the nonprofit Turner Foundation, owns several ranches that contain more than 11,000 restored acres that are home to more than 150,000 prairie dogs. “It is our duty to protect these animals on our land -- not only because… it was their home before it was mine, but because these animals are absolutely essential to the health and well-being of surrounding species, as well as to the land itself,” Turner said in a prepared statement.
